
ABOUT BREAJNA
Breajna Dawkins is a marketing communications leader and a social media expert with over 10 years of experience in the industry. Recently, she worked as a Communications Specialist for Northwestern University’s School of Communication.
In December 2021, she graduated from Northwestern University with a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications. During the program she concentrated on strategic communications and brand marketing, solidifying her expertise in developing strategies to build and promote brand’s reputations within consumer markets. She was also one of two Medill students selected to attend the Sciences Po university in Paris, France, where she studied luxury international marketing and omnichannel management. While abroad, she completed the INSIDE LVMH Certificate becoming certified by multinational corporation LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, in luxury branding, operations, supply chain, and sustainability.
Previously, Breajna was the Corporate Employer Relations Coordinator for the University of Texas at Dallas Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. She designed an internal and external corporate communications program that appealed to the school’s corporate partners, stakeholders, and students to encourage recruiting activity, fundraising, and university partnerships. She wrote new and updated existing deliverables, newsletters, and email campaigns extending engagement with our office using feedback from partners and students alike.
She also created and managed 90+ events in a calendar year; including exclusive University partnerships with Google and Facebook with participant attendance at 1,100 and 500+ respectively, building and maintaining relationships with engineering and tech industry stakeholders. Her work doubled corporate company attendance at the Jonsson School Career Fairs and generated $12-20K+ more in revenue per Fair.
A passionate storyteller and a high-impact leader, Breajna began her career writing for local and national magazines covering culture and the arts, celebrity news, and events. She then moved into public involvement, working for Dallas-based firm K Strategies, where she directly represented entities like Southwest Airlines and the City of Dallas in the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex during large-scale construction projects.
Outside of work Breajna is the founder of the Northwestern University Medill Black IMC Alumni Alliance– a first of its kind network developed to connect and support all Black Medill scholars working in integrated marketing communications past, present, and prospective. She also enjoys blogging, photography, fashion, and design.
